Hells is the lovechild of our two favourite German beer styles - Helles and Pilsner. Clean, crisp and dry, it’s the beer we always wanted to drink and the reason we started our brewery. We hope you agree.

On tap we Walton Heath. Pours a clear yellow with a white head that dissipates quickly to the edges. Aroma is straw forward with sweet grains and bread supporting. Flavor has a nice straw and light sweet grain combo with a bit of bread in the finish.

Tap at some shitty pub. Clear golden. Quite grainy in a raw malts way, soft grassy hops, cardboard, bitter dusty herbs. Medium sweet with a nice lasting bitter finish. OK.

Pint @ Pizza Pilgrims. But also numerous pints at the original brewery taproom in Camden Town. Not quite sure how I never rated this back in the day. I kind of wish I had as the beer was completely different back then. Fresh at the source, this was - and remains - the best lager I've ever tasted. Not ashamed to say that. Super fresh, very grainy malt profile. Ten years later, the beer is a pale shadow of its former self. Lacks any character, extremely bland. Fine to accompany a pizza, but quite sad compared to what it was at the start.

On tap @ Singer Tavern. Aroma is grainy, citrusy and grassy. Pours cloudy straw color with thin white head and average sparkling appearance. Tastes mild sweet grainy, citrusy and herbal with faint peppery tingle, crisp mouthfeel and average bitter finish. Light to medium body, slick texture and average carbonation in palate. Hells over paradise…
