Sometimes I wonder if strong ales are life. Super delicious hints of dried stone fruit and prunes smacked with tons of brown sugar and molasses, dark chocolate and vanilla, barrel overdosed smoothness.

Bottle. Pitch black colour, basically no head. Aroma is liquorice, alcohol, some mild rye bread and a bit toasted tones. Flavour is liquorice, chocolate syrup, some toasted tones, rye bread, alcohol and some mild coffee with cream to it. Big and bold.

Waxed, capped 375 from Tavour. Pours very dark brn/blk with barely a dark tan smear. Aroma suggest chocolate and rye with treacle notes. Very full bodied. Flavor is the aroma, plus heat, and something suggesting pale fruit, and notes of oak astringency. With time bourbon seems to displace the rye. Exquisite.

On tap at Anchorage, pours jet black with a tiny head. Aroma is complex as hell, with sublime bourbon barrel, molasses, treacle, and oak. Flavour is sublime, with intense bourbon barrels, big booziness, oak, wood, and dark sugars. A bit too hot but the barrel character is pretty sublime. Good use some calibrating to dial down the ethanol character but it's pretty great as is.
