Feels thinner than cerebral's usual porters? Makes it even more obvious that it's lacking the pohjala Baltic porter thickness and magic. The flavor is good though just short, real short, but chocolatey oaky flavor is there and delicious, just needs moar!

16oz can from Tavour. Black pour with a lasting cap of creamy beige head. Aroma is roasty with lots of chocolate (emphasis on lots). Taste is sweet, and chocolaty, roasty bitterness. Creamy feel, smooth, light bitterness lingers. Very, very enjoyable. ABV not that noticable.

Taster at Hops & Pie. Pours a dark, reddish, brown color, with a medium, frothy, beige head. The nose is birch, chicory, chalk, juniper, and oak. Dry and bitter. Medium body, with a sticky, abrasive palate. This is a harsh and aggressive beer, but well made and interesting.

Can - pours a dark ruby - headless, looking more like a barleywine than anything else - medium sweet, with a little bit of the oak foeder coming through to add some complexity - a slight sharpness in the roast and acidity - chocolate, cherry, vanilla - alcohol is mashed really well, but the beer is still warming - overall just slightly rough around the edges, but nice.
