Taster flight at Bridge & Tunnel. Copper colored pour with a few stray bubbles. Aroma is malty, toffee and bourbon. Taste addds fruity notes, plums, figs, dates, rich toffee malts with some nice velvety bourbon notes bringing it all together.

16.9 oz bottle, courtesy of andrewje41 (thanks man!), pours a deep dark mahogany with a tiny beige head. Nose reveals a rich, complex bourbon barrel character, with a touch of spiciness from the rye, along with a rich caramel and toffee malt base, and perhaps notes of brown sugar. Flavour is rich and assertive, certainly on the sweet side but in acceptable territory for the style -- there's huge bourbon barrels, spicy rye whiskey, caramel, dark fruits, brown sugar, and alcohol. Tons of depth and complexity. If I could, I'd tone down the sweetness just a bit, but that's a minor gripe for what it is an excellent BA barley wine.

Waxed, capped 500 from Tavour. Pours clear very dark brown with a smidgin of tan head. Aroma of rye and other things. Full bodied. Flavor is rye, some dark fruit, toffeeish malt, bourbon probably. It's not dry, but not sticky. Bitter. From heat? From oak? From something! A very nice sipper.
