We teamed up with Wylam Brewery in our first collaboration to create Henry's Pick. Brewed with a Theakston Grist of Pale, lager and Munich malts and freshly harvested 2022 Challenger, Admiral & Pilgrim Hops supplied by Brook House hops. Brewed in our famous Victorian tower brewery in Masham, the beer combines both brewing teams expertise, with Wylam’s more modern brewing methods perfectly complementing our almost 200 years of craftsmanship.
The beer takes its name from Henry Smith, Farm Manager at Brook House and alludes to the fact that it is brewed with the highest-quality in-season hops, picked fresh off the bine this year to produce this celebratory beer which highlights the artistry and expertise within British brewing.

Half at Landoger Trow. Hazy golden, thin silky off-white head, solid lacing. Sweet, buttery, grainy aroma.

On tap at Ebenezers, Crewe. Pours a hazy golden vyellow with a small white head. Not much of an aroma, just some vague floral hops. These hops come to the fore in the mouth though along with berry fruits and hints of pine and citrus. Oversall it’s initially sweet but some bitterness creeps in later, leading to a slightly dry finish. This is a decent pale ale.
