Small beige head. Hazy brown body with carbonation. Spicy herbal licorice aroma with charcoal notes. Dry-sweet burnt spicy lacquer taste with honey and dust notes. Light body. Mild but fizzy mouthfeel. Dryish herbal burnt licorice aftertaste with papery mealy chocolate notes. Unusual, but quite nice and interesting. (0.33l bottle, Village de la Biere, Strasbourg.)

Mahogany color; creamy head. The aroma shows initially some yeast, then cinnamon ginger and cloves, then nuts. Medium bodied, dark caramel flavor, with some spices; the final is quite bitter and dry. You gotta love the style...

Bottle, 5.8%. Fruity and yeasty aroma. A little sweet aroma, slightly spicy. Cloudy dark red brown colour. Very small head. Bubbly carbonation. The flavour is nicely sweet with a good spicy note. A little like cookie spices, perhaps some sweet cardamum. Surprisingly good.

Bottled, thanks Bov! Cloudy mahogany colour. Aroma of wormwood and caraway. Sweet with clean rounded mouthfeel. Syrupy and medium bodied, interesting herbal bnitterness. A spice beer that works fairly well.

bottle, Village de la Biere Strasbourg. Very cloudy brown colour, small beige head. Aroma of gingerbread. Of course, this doesnt surprise me, as it is called bière au pain d*épice - Lebkuchenbier - gingerbread beer. Medium-bodied, malty, with gingerbread flavours, spices (cinnamon, coriander) and honey. Shy hops in the finish.

Dirty-beige head over red-amber beer. Very spicey, lavender, rosemary, ginger, more gingerbread spices. In the taste, it becomes pure allspice, clovey - it is no doubt added. More spiciness, lasting, maybe a tad too much, but more balanced than the nose made me fear for. Medium bodied, lively carbonation. Obviously very spicy, but all the same rather interesting beer. Big thanks to Stef.
