One of Scotland’s favourites thanks to its distinctive and full-bodied flavour. Pale malt gives satisfying ‘Horlicks’ maltiness and black malt adds balance to the sweetness. Challenger provides the bitterness and base note herbal hop character with Goldings adding a hint of orange peel.

Bottle from Asda. It pours dark amber, with a thick off-white head. The nose is nut, earth, honey and fresh orange juice. The taste is toasted malt, earth, chocolate, nut, wood and caramel, with a long dry finish. Medium body and low, but sharp carbonation. Straight forward stuff.

cask at City Walls in Stirling - Pours hazy amber with a lingering off-white head. Smells mainly of caramel malt. Light. The flavor is of sweet malt with mild balancing hops. It’s medium bodied and quite drinkable. Nothing special though.
