For everything there is a season and tradition. That’s why our pumpkin ale, brewed with cacao nibs, ancho, serrano, and habenero chiles with fall spices, is brewed once a year during the onset of autumn. Inspired by the mythos of the ancients, Xibalba (she-bahl-bah) is an otherworldly reminder that seasons are fleeting and to be celebrated.

Bottle split at Leighton's 20K, thanks to Matteo, 01/03/17. Mahogany brown with a decent beige cap. Nose is spice, cocoa powder, dark fruit rinds, chilli, breads. Taste comprises green pepper bite, charr, toffee, cocoa powder, dark fruits. Medium plus body, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Decent enough for the style but nothing I'd choose to revisit.

Bottle sample at a tasting at troubles’ place. Thanks Stas & Vova. Reddish brown. Big chili aroma with cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, a bit of chocolate. Sweet, caramelly, some alcohol, slightly hot finish. OK, not really my thing.

0.5l bottle shared with Inbreak @ Bier Temple. Wants out of the bottle this! Don't leave it for too long. It's more or less a clear one, mild cola brown on the pour. A medium sized mild beige head hats leaving some small dots on the sides of the glass. Smells really good. Lots of chocolate and that oh so mighty pumpkin spiciness. Cinnamon, dark fudge and I really get that chili in this one. Like it! Oh, tastes really nice also. Smooth as butter when pouring the dark stuff down the throat. It's gliding in the mouth and below average on the carbonation. Chocolate, lots of wood here! Mild coffee in the finish. I quite liked and enjoyed this one. 22.09.2016

Leighton’s 20K at his posh new gaff! Thanks to Matteo. Hazy deep amber beer, tidy pale tan head. Palate is light and semi dry, decent fine carbonation. Chocolatey malts, powdery chocolate. Tangy dark fruits. Mellow chilli spice and warmth. Fine.
