For everything there is a season and tradition. That’s why our pumpkin ale, brewed with cacao nibs, ancho, serrano, and habenero chiles with fall spices, is brewed once a year during the onset of autumn. Inspired by the mythos of the ancients, Xibalba (she-bahl-bah) is an otherworldly reminder that seasons are fleeting and to be celebrated.

Bottle shared at the Leighton mega 20k tasting. 1/03/2017. Many thanks to Matteo for this one. A hazed brown coloured pour with a halo of off white head. Aroma is sweet pumpkin, nutty brown bread, praline. Flavour is powdered choc, pumpkin, cinnamon, woody. Paste is semi sweet, rounded, moderate carbonation. . Ok.

Bottle shared at Leighton’s 20k. Thanks to Matteo for this one. Pours orange brown with a thin white head. Aroma is pumpkin, a little chocolate and smoke. Taste is pumpkin spice, a little chocolate. Not bad at all

Pours a rich deep brown from a bottle with an off-white head. Aroma of chocolate, roasted squash. Flavor adds some nutmeg and cinnamon with some peppery notes, but not overly spicy, and thankfully not very sweet. Good beer.

Soft gusher. Nice fizzy-creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is slightly dry grassy, mild grassy chillies, minerals, dark malts, grass, weeds, spices, cocoa, hay, smoked red peppers. Taste is slightly dry mineraly, weeds, minerals, dry grassy chillies, burnt cocoa nibs, grass, hay, bark, weeds, spices. Medium bitterness, slightly dry mineraly and watery mouthfeel. Nice and interesting.

Pours deep mahogany into a tulip. White head recedes to nothing. Pumpkin, bourbon and vanilla aromas. Thin with warm pumpkin, and hot vanilla upfront turning to a hot bourbon finish.

Bottle (from beergium). Pours amber-copper with beige head. The head stays for a moment. Aroma is caco, chili, pumpkin. Flavor is sweet, cocoa, pumpkin, slight chili, coffee heaks. Overall: weird, but interesting.

50cl bottle pours a hazy amber brown with some cloudy, white head. Nose has ancho, raisin, some malt, mildly vegetal, some persimmon. Flavor has chili spice, mild chocolate, raisin, brown sugar, caramel. Mild heat. Nice.
