For everything there is a season and tradition. That’s why our pumpkin ale, brewed with cacao nibs, ancho, serrano, and habenero chiles with fall spices, is brewed once a year during the onset of autumn. Inspired by the mythos of the ancients, Xibalba (she-bahl-bah) is an otherworldly reminder that seasons are fleeting and to be celebrated.

Decent level of roast and some light pumpkin. Chili spice is subtle. Pours dark brown with ok head. Light sweet finish. Tolerable for a pumpkin beer, and even decent. Bottle shared at tasting.

500 mL bottle. Dark, ruby, brown color, with a big, bubbly, tan head. Nose of yams, brown sugar, bitter chocolate, nutmeg, and chili peppers. Sweet flavor, but not cloying. Some light bitterness, with a mild, pleasant spicy heat in the finish. Light to medium body, silky, lightly astringent, and a bit flat. This is a truly unique and delicious beer. I now wish that every pumpkin beer was a spiced, chocolate, pumpkin beer!
