Small, yellowish-beige head over very dark brown beer, with a foxy shine. Sweet nose, with a dark bread aroma. Roasted malts, dry, but aromatic. Very neutral taste, lightly sweetened ink, dark German bread, faint acidity included. Fruit-of-the-mothercorn. Light bodied, but not thin, even slightly creamy MF. Not bad, but I’ve experienced better Schwarzbiere.

50cl bottle. Pours dark brown nearly black with a small bubbly head. Nose & taste is bread & toffee. Slightly roasted. Sugar/syrupy. Hints of rye-bread & butterscotch which is not pleasant.

50 cL bottle. Pours deep brown with a golden amber glare and diminishing tan head. Roasted malt and raisin fruity yet dry aroma. Flavour is dry breadish with a distinct roastedness. Mild fruity towards the finish and with a mix of roasted acidity and hops bitterness.

Medium brown head. Deep dark red barely translucent body. Sugary roasty toffee aroma with licorice notes. Dry-sweet delicate roasty taste with smoky earthy notes. Mild mouthfeel. Dry earthy roasty aftertaste. Not very complex, but delicate and harmonic. Nice! (0.5l bottle, Vantaa airport.)

Bottle. Clear, deep chestnut color with a nice, but short-lived beige head. The beer tried it’s best to get out of the bottle on it’s own. Dried fruits and a little roastiness in the aroma. The flavor has dried fruits, sweetness, a little roast and some hops. Medium to full body, roasted finish. The beer was two months bast BB-date, giving it a little cellarish note, but I ignored it in the rating. A really nice, dark czech. (070528)

Bottle. Dark amber color with a large frothy good lacing light brown head. Aroma is heavy malty, roasted, dark cocolate, sugar. Flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter with a average duration. Body is light to medium, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft.

(Bottle) Deep, dark, ruby colour with frothy, disappearing beige head. Malty nose with caramel, dark cherries, wild berries and dark bitter chocolate. Malty taste with caramel, dark fruit, chocolate, coffee (capuccino?) and discreet hoppy notes in the finish. Smooth mouthfeel and not as sweet as czech dunkels tend to be. Very enjoyable.
