The Stakanov is a Session Beer with an orange, slightly coated colour, with a very persistent white and creamy head. Inebriating and “catchy” thanks to the use of only the Centennial hop, letting out aromas and tastes which are particularly fruity and citrusy, with notes of orange dominating over call-backs to tastes of mandarin and grapefruit.

On a second level one may perceive floral and herbal notes. A beer which is characterised by the perfect balance between malts and hops, leading to a surprisingly refined bitterfinish.

Mother Kelly’s. Keg. Light haze on this orange - gold beer, good cream colour head. Palate is airy and semi dry. Decent fine carbonation. Dry pale malts, some grain. Mild floralness. Trace of citrus on the back end. Dry grainy finish. Meh!

0,33L bottle (from Tallinna Kaubamaja). Pours murky amber with off-white head. The head stays. Aroma is strawberries, malt, grass. Flavor is sour, slightly sweet and bitter, malt, strawberries, citrus. Finish is citric bitter. Doesn’t feel watery, despite the ABV. Overall: pouring yeast in made it somewhat messy and dirty, but otherwise nice session brew.

(Bottle, 0.33 l - BB 090316, at Gastropub Tuulensuu, 20140609) The beer poured golden and hazy. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had raspberries, grapefruit and mildly malts. Palate was light bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, grapefruit, sweetness, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was hoppy and bitter. A nice but thin brew.
