Pipkin pale malt, Crystal malt and maltose syrup. Challenger and Goldings hops. Morland’s original yeast. A quite unique, strong, bottle-conditioned ale with an original gravity of 1059, full of flavour and character with a richly malted aroma and a nice, smooth finish. From a blend of Pale Ale and Crystal malts, this is a rich and satisfying beer with good presentation. A strongish beer in terms of alcohol, but there’s no bite from this Hen’s Tooth!

Bottle thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance - deep amber with a thin head. Nose - honey and stewed apple. Some toffee. Taste - syrup and burnt biscuit. Palate - close to medium bodied. Dry crunchy/tangy middle section. Dry, but gnarly finish. Overall - ok.

A typical strong bitter, but with a pungent flavour of yeast from the bottle conditioning. It was an enjoyable pint, but it didn’t have the smoothness that we are now getting with the modern ESBs.

zapach delikatny, słodowy, sporo zieleni, trawy, białej butelki. odrobina cytrusów i przypraw. kolor miedziany, klarowny, lekko opalizujący. piana w kolorze złamanej bieli, dość obfita, średnio trwała, ale pozostaje cienką, dość trwałą warstwą. w smaku pełne, biszkoptowe, karmelowe, lekki popiół, pełne ale nie słodkie. goryczka bardzo wyraźna, mocna - czysta, ziołowa. lekko ogonkowe posmaki połączone z lekko alkoholową goryczą, ale nie jest to tutaj wada, a zaleta. nasycenie wysokie.
