Pipkin pale malt, Crystal malt and maltose syrup. Challenger and Goldings hops. Morland’s original yeast. A quite unique, strong, bottle-conditioned ale with an original gravity of 1059, full of flavour and character with a richly malted aroma and a nice, smooth finish. From a blend of Pale Ale and Crystal malts, this is a rich and satisfying beer with good presentation. A strongish beer in terms of alcohol, but there’s no bite from this Hen’s Tooth!

Rojiza madera, no mucha espuma. Buen olor entre licor malta tostada, miel y tabaco. Mantiene en boca añadiendo un ligero toque frutal al principio, y acabando muy muy seca. Tono general de licor, sabrosa.

*Old rating from 2010. Nice strong ale. A bit sweetish, malty with a nice Ale-characteristic. Easy to drink, fresh but tends to be sticky. Nice but too sweet for me.

Bottle. Dark amber colour, quickly diminishing head, virtually no lacing. Aroma is wood, caramel, alcohol, a bit of prune. Medium bitterness. Full body, fizzy carbonation. Quite similar to Belgian strong ales. Quite ok.

Crazy skunky nose, clear amber brown, nice head of foam. Skunky malty nose. Light soft malty body but a bit rough. The taste is skunky, malty, sweet. Light biscuit & some hops. Ok but past it’s prime.

Bottle from Yamaya. Pretty amber-orange with a tall, fine head. Tangy, hoppy nose, tobacco, orange. Nice malt flavor, tangy, grassy and herbal. Soft and full, sweet but balanced. Quite fun, good stuff.
