Pipkin pale malt, Crystal malt and maltose syrup. Challenger and Goldings hops. Morland’s original yeast. A quite unique, strong, bottle-conditioned ale with an original gravity of 1059, full of flavour and character with a richly malted aroma and a nice, smooth finish. From a blend of Pale Ale and Crystal malts, this is a rich and satisfying beer with good presentation. A strongish beer in terms of alcohol, but there’s no bite from this Hen’s Tooth!

Bottle: Pours copper/amber with a huge, beige head. Slightly skunky, caramel malt aroma. Ovveripe apple (peel), toffee, nut flavor. Rich, earthy bitter. Malty.... Not bad, but a little too light-struck from the clear bottle.

Poured from a bottle it iis a golden amber with an off white head. It has the aroma of malt and dome citrus. The taste is reminisent of sour apples and resonated bitter on the palate.

From a 50 cl bottle shared in Avon NC. Pours a clear amber with a thick off white head. Malty nose with a hint of tartness. Flavors of light caramel and biscuit with a boozy bite. Medium bodied, heavy carbonation, bitter finish.

Bottle - Caramel malts, biscuit and a slight balsamic acidity. Clear copper with a rich beige head. Boozy and toffee with a metallic sour/bitterness. I much prefer the other hens.

Smak och doft av humle, malt, karamell. Syrlig, frisk, väldigt lång och god eftersmak, färskölskänsla.

Amber with an off-white head. Aroma of caramel, dried fruit, lemon sherbet. Some toasted and sherry hints. Full-bodied, bready. Sweet with dried peaches and caramel that’s not quite as heavy as expected. Firm bitterness, slightly tangy and woody with some pepper. Not overwhelmingly rich, enough character to remain interesting enough. Well-rounded.
