Voornamelijk suikerzoet, er us zoals altijd bespaard op de duurdere ingrediënten, daardoor vrij kansloze poging, 13 in een dozijn hobbybrouwer met een overschot aan suiker maakt dit ook.

If it ain't Dutch. Keg. Near opaque dark brown beer, tidy tan head. Smooth palate, airy, mildly dry, decent fine minerally carbonation. Airy but rich tasting dark malts. Soft but rich coffee, mellow choc.A light touch of coconut. Comes together very well indeed

From a 330ml bottle on 29/1/2025. Pours a deep deep brown with a small to medium head that dissipates fast. The nose features dark chocolate, caramel and a touch of soy. Tastes of dark and milk chocolate, caramel, some licorice, and even a hint of the advertised bay leaf and coconut. Finishes quite sharp and roasty. Has a syrupy palate and moderate carbonation. A very solid big sipper.

Keg at If It Ain't Dutch, Bermondsey, 22/01/2025.
Extremely dark mahogany brown topped with a beige cap that thins to the edge.
Nose is dark malts, raisins, charr, fruit cake, cocoa powder.
Taste comprises mellow roast, charr, fruit cake mix, dates, toffee.
Medium bodied with bite, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a whisper of alcohol.
Not bad.

Bottle. Dark brown with a light tan head that's soon less than a coat. Toasted coconut, moderate roast, mocha aroma. Roast and a spicy bitterness creep up a little in the taste to rein in the coconut. Some black liquorice at the end. Nice enough but doesn't offer a lot for its strength.

Donkerbruin bier met weinig schuim. Smaak is vrij zoet en kruidig met iets van anijs en wat lichte drop smaak. Heel goed.
