This medium to full-bodied beer, pale to golden in color, is most accurately described as a Bavarian wheat beer. The aroma and flavor of this unfiltered beer is decidedly fruity and spicy evoking tastes and aromas of cloves, nutmeg or sometimes vanilla with banana-like esters. Somewhat sweeter in style with a barely noticeable tartness. An award winning Hefeweizen from the heartland.

Pour is a hazy yellow with a large white head. Aroma has some clove and banana but with also a decent lemon juice tartness. Flavor is noticeably a bit thin in body then some wheat malt with more of the tart lemon juice shows up. Not as chewy and yeasty as it German counterparts but still ok to fill out a mix-a-six with.

0.355 l can from 'Rudat'. Hazy, golden yellow with a large, fluffy, almost stable, white head. Sweetish, slightly fruity and moderately yeasty-spicy aroma of banana, pear, some clove and hints of orange peel. Moderately sweet, not overly yeasty-spicy and slightly fruity taste of banana, pear, some clove and traces of vanilla, followed by a short, slightly bitter, moderately yeasty-spicy finish. Medium body, fairly effervescent mouthfeel, lively carbonation. Very solid Weizen, rather fruity for the style, definitely worth a try even though you can find so many wheat beers in Germany of the same quality for a fifth of its price.

12 ounce can into weizen glass, canned on 2/3/2017. Pours hazy pale golden yellow color with a 2 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice thick foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of big lemon, orange, banana, bubblegum, pear, apple, pepper, clove, nutmeg, coriander, wheat, cracker, white bread, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, pale malt, and light earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of big lemon, orange, banana, bubblegum, pear, apple, pepper, clove, nutmeg, coriander, wheat, cracker, white bread, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Light herbal/grassy bitterness and yeast spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of lemon, orange, banana, bubblegum, pear, apple, pepper, clove, nutmeg, coriander, wheat, cracker, white bread, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, pale malt, and light earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitter/spiciness balance, and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light dryness from bitter/spiciness and carbonation, lightly increasing through the glass. Medium-high carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, moderately crisp, and fairly creamy/grainy/sticky balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5.2%. Overall this is a very nice hefeweizen. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, pale malt, and light earthy hop flavors; very smooth, crisp, and refreshing to drink. Well rounded yeast complexity and balanced malts; with just enough hop presence to round it out. Slightly on the thin side; but still very flavorful for the ABV. A very enjoyable offering, and spot on style example.

12oz can at home. No BB date. yellow hazy color, small white head. smells belgian yeasty, spices, light buttery, light sweetness. ok smell. medium to full body, quite light carbonation, light mouthfeel. tastes of belgian yeast, spices, lightly leathery, hints of peach. finishes lightly and and lightly belgian yeasty with some spices and peachy notes. okish beer, more like a belgian ale then a hefeweizen.

Can. It pours mostly clear light golden with a medium fizzy white head. The aroma has strong wheat, light lemony hops, hints of vanilla and spice. No banana or clove. The flavor is the same. Wheat forward with light notes of apple and vanilla. Soft wheat character. Pretty watery on the palate. Overall pretty bland, but refreshing enough I guess.

Can pour into tulip glass from Manchester Wine & Liquors. Aroma is yeast, wheat and mild fruit/banana and clove. Appearance is cloudy light yellow with sediment particles in suspension and at the bottom of the glass, nice sparkle, massive 4 finger-width off-white head with poor retention, no lacing. Taste is wheat and mild fruit/banana, yeast, mild bubblegum. Palate is light-to-medium bodied with thin, frothy texture, fizzy carbonation (dominant feature of palate) and mildly sweet, fruity finish. Overall, wondering if this might have been a bit old (but no born on or best buy date) as aroma was not banana and head and carbonation level seem out of character. That said, certainly had all the features of a hefeweizen but not to award-winning level.

On tap at VCBW Festival 2016, pours a cloudy golden yellow with a small white head. Aroma brings out notes of clove and restrained bananas, with a touch of citrus. Flavour is along the same lines, with lots of clove, mild banana and citrus finish. Standard hef. Drinkable enough but nothing special.
