Roast and dark chocolate. Black pour with good mocha head and lacing. Bitter end. Velvety texture. Light coffee. A hint of leather. Tap at Ocean Beach.

On nitro tap at Pizza Port Bressi Ranch, pours black with a reddish tinge and creamy tan head. Aroma brings out oats, dry cocoa and light toasted malt. Flavour brings out lots of espresso upfront, followed by dry cocoa and toasted malt. Dominated by coffee and cocoa on the finish. Nice stuff.

Draught @ Pizza Port, Carlsbad, CA
Pours dark brown with a creamy light tan head. Aroma has notes of roasted malt, coffee and lactose. Taste is medium to heavy sweet and light bitter with a long roasted, coffee and milk finish. Body is medium to full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

On tap at the Carlsbad brewpub. A clear looking dark brown beer with a dark beige head. Some lacings. The aroma has lots of coffee, sweet coffee. Dark chocolate too. A bit one dimensional flavor, but nice. Medium body, very low on carbonation. Coffee and dark chocolate in the finish. Sure nice, but maybe a bit too focused on coffee alone. 130813

On nitro tap at Carlsbad. Pours with a retentive creamy, nitro off-white-tan head over a clear dark brown hued body with red highlights. Aromas are huge coffee, lactose, chocolate, bready and toasty. Flavors are sweet, brown sugar, coffee, toasty, nutty. Missing body, but I have no idea where the 8%ABV is hiding. Creamy, lactose, but feels a touch thin. Tasty.
