Søgaard Bryghus 210217. Dark brown color with a beige head. Aroma is roasted malt, smoked, hop. flavor is smoked, roasted malt, hop, dried fruits, bread. Medium body. OK beer.

On tap at the brewpub. It’s an unclear brown beer with a small, dense off-white head. The aroma is smoked for sure, but it’s almost equally roasted, making me think it may suit porter and stout but not smoked beer drinkers. There’s some faint dms notes and also some dried fruits and toffee too on the nose. It’s full to medium bodied with a smooth carbonation, semi sweet. Roasted and smoked malts, prunes, dark sugar hints, some bitterness and bread in the flavor. Long roasted and lightly smoked finish with prunes in the back. Smoked schwarzbier might be the best description of this beer. 160621
