Black with light brown head - Roasted malt and chocolate aroma - Malt body with a good roasted flavour with some chocolate - The dark malt and chocolate flavour goes into the finish with some bitterness - This was good

On tap at the brewpub. It pours a dark brush body under a finger thick beige head leaving some curtains. The aroma is roasted and lightly burnt, with a sour smoke hint, in a nice way though, notes of licorice and a wee touch of dark dried fruits. The flavor has some coffee and dark chocolate notes, more licorice than the aroma, and a good dash of roasted malts. Some burnt down bonfire smoke sourness in the far back. Full to medium body and a smooth carbonation, semi-dry. Long finish, on the same dark side as the initial flavor. A very pleasant one indeed. 180921
