Bottle, from trade with Cunningham. A dense, two-finger beige head forms over a dark brown to black body. The aroma is malt driven, with charcoal, licorice, cinnamon and ginger hints, cocoa and some hints of dark dried fruits. It's rather effervescent on the palate, medium bodied and semi-dry, with quite low levels of both sweetness and bitterness. Charcoal, roasted malts, cinnamon, ginger, some anise and licorice, cocoa and dark dried fruits in the flavor. Some faint yeasty notes too. Lasting finish with more focus on licorice or anise. Way too carbonated this one, making it horrible to drink, and I'm not fan of the aroma- and flavor profile either, although they are acceptable. Didn't ring any Christmas bells for me this one. 220323

Black as the deepest dungeon in the glass. And a fine beige head Ok lacing. Looks good and inviting Good intensity in the aroma. Dark malt, chocolate and some spices Nice body for a 4.7% beer. Also a pleasant sweetness and a fine carbonation level, Semi dry ending Dark malt, chocolate, coffee, some spices and some roast in the flavor Nice stout. But I missed all the spices they claimed to be in this beer Refund? Hmm some a lot of ginger popps up after a while. So no refund [Bottle – bought at The Brewery]
