Flat, clear light golden color. Aroma is slightly sweet sour-ish boozy, heather honey, hay, minerals, alcohol, sap, grass, leafs, vanilla, hints of sour apples and maple syrup. Taste is sweet sour-ish floral, heather honey, sap, alcohol, vanilla, grass, flowers, hints of sour apples and maple syrup. Sweet boozy mouthfeel. Nice, but lighter and less complex than I expected.

Pours clear golden with no head. Aroma has notes of honey, maple and almonds. Taste is heavy sweet with a long warm, honey, maple and almond finish. Body is full, texture is oily to sticky, no carbonation

KYGG 130322. Deep golden color with no head. Aroma is honey, vanilla, touch of maple syrup. Flavor is honey, sugar, vanilla, touch of maple syrup, wood, hint of bourbon. Nice mead.

Bottle. An oily mead, deep golden in color, still and headless. Looking beautiful actually.The aroma has a bit more honey than I expected, with alcohol, booze, some pecan, flowers and vanilla, a touch of maple syrup and some very faint woody hints. It's full-bodied, warming and lightly sticky on the palate, with a very light tannin touch. Honey, flowers, some vanilla and lime, pecan and a good dash of maple syrup in the flavor. Not much impact from the barrel ageing detected in the flavor, but there's much more maple syrup than in the aroma. And in the very end, the maple syrup shines even brighter. A delicious one indeed, pity I didn't prepare any food pairing. 220313
