This dark pilsner has, over the years, become a clear sign that Christmas is upon us. The annual launch in Denmark, known as 'J-day', takes place the first Friday in November and is a day of celebration across Denmark. Carlsberg employees drive around in truck to visit bars and cafés while singing the traditional Tuborg Christmas Brew song and handing out free beer to the guests to mark the start of the festive season.

The beer itself is a bottom-fermented wiener beer brewed on lager, münchener and caramel malt, and added English liquorice. The beer is dark-golden with a fresh aroma of caramel, cereal, liquorice and blackcurrant.

Amber colour. Malty aroma, with a little spice. Warm sweetness, and overall well balanced.

(0,5 liter dark blue plastic bottle.) Brownish golden colour, moderate head. Aroma and flavour like an average pilsener with liqourice added - and that's what it actually is (the label states that liqourice is an ingredient). Compared to the best Norwegian \"klasse F\" Christmas beers, this is BAD (well, it's drinkable, but not much more).

An amber beer with no head. The aroma is very faintly sweet. But the flavor is a lot better: it has a nice sweetness of a nice malt blend (caremel malt) with a little bitterness that lingers. A very nice beer for consumption in the time before christmas. As the years have passed I like it less and less. 10 years ago I loved it for the sweetness but now I don''t like too sweet beers and therefore is turning away from this beer. But it''s still a really good beer.

Drinkable yet forgettable. Boring lager. There's no Christmas about it whatsoever!

Pale brown with a beatiful head. Looks nice, but tastes - nothing! Sweet water with a little caramell. Just plain awful.

Allthough a bit more interesting than a standard danish pilsener and with a beautifull color, the inherrent sweetnes and lack of other interesting taste notes makes it this beer an boring experience

Bit malty brew. For me comparable to Carls Jul. But the Danish guys can certainly brew a decent pilsener!

Considering that the Easter beer is tasty and well-made, I was very disappointed by this thin, uninspired lager. For a better Christmas brew up north try PUP or Aass. Or better yet, Nils Oscar.
