Can from Drankenhandel Leiden. Heavy and sweet with tropical fruit, citrus, pale malt, alcohol. Some hop burn, bit harsh bitterness. Lacks smoothness, the usual flaws of a Quadruple IPA

Pours hazy golden with a white head. Aroma has notes of malt, citrus, orange, grape, mango, pineapple and alcohol. Taste is heavy sweet and medium bitter with a long warm, tropical fruity, mango and pineapple finish. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Murky light orange with tons of floaters. Looks like a meal. Nice aroma of honey melons, papaya, candy. Taste is sweet up front, rich and dense, a real melange of flavor that feels more like a smoothie than a beer. Increasingly citric bitter towards the finish, where a restrained alcohol warmth pops up. Really, it’s almost too dense. The hoppy bitterness just barely wins out over the heavy and sweet malty base on this one. Interesting. It covers up its 12% quite well.

Can shared with Chris after he helped install drywall around drain pipes all day. Overripe mango and papaya nose on orange amber hazy goodness. Flavor is huge, smooth mouthfeel with moderate bitterness, well balanced malt and bitterness levels. Excellent!

Can from Beyondbeer Advent Calender, this is the last of the beers from that selection. Had this Thursday 2nd March 2023. listening to Marc Riley on 6Music making some chocolate brownies and a Bakewell Tart, we’ll probably have a Spaghetti Carbonara for tea later. Back to the beer, it’s hazy yellow gold with a pleasant softness, a little creaminess. It’s a big butterfat 12% and one that I have been avoiding for a long while because of the abv. Some tropical touches, quite boozy, thick mouthfeel, it’s pretty decent but it’s not really for me.

7-3-8-4-16 On tap @ What's Brewing 22, Stavanger. Pours cloudy dark yellow, with a creamy head. Aroma is dank, passion fruit, mango and pineapples, as well as orange peel, grapefruit and grassy minerals. Flavour is dank hops with tropical notes of pineapples, mango and stone fruits, as well as citrusy notes of orange peel, grapefruit and lingering grassy notes through the finish.

Can. Color: Very hazy orange, white head. Aroma: Hoppy, citrus notes. Taste: Hoppy, smooth and quite dense malty base, boozy, sweetish, grassy, some pine, orange and tangerine. Moderate bitter, over moderate to medium sweet. Bit sirupy. Over medium body, just below average carbonation. Long lasting finish. Ok QIPA

Solsletta Nyttårsaften 2022. Orange color with an off-white head. Aroma is pine, grapefruit, oranges. Flavor is pine, grapefruit, oranges, alcohol, grass, malt. Nice beer.
