Barrel Aged Imperial Stout
Aged for twenty months in Kentucky bourbon barrels, this imperial stout emerges rich, dark, and robust. Each sip reveals layers of vanilla, brown sugar, oak, and a hint of char, creating a symphony of flavors that linger on the palate. Much like the buffalo roaming the Kentucky wilderness, this beast of a beer carves a bold path from start to finish.

Really thick texture with a ring head. Oaky, woody bourbon, butterscotch, vanilla, caramel and booze. Not sure exactly subtle and balanced.

Wasn’t mad about this on the nose. A bit sweet and sour, coming through as red wine/port even though not. Opens up nicely though. Smooth and balanced, body supports the flavours with bourbon coming through clearly on the palate

Bottle, 750 ml, shared with MiroB and Luka. Black with beige head. Chocolate, bourbon, some dried fruit, quite sweet. Nice barrel aging.

Exactly what I want in a stout. Coffee, leather, chocolate, deep darkness. Perfect balance of bourbon spice and sweet maltiness. Proper heaven. This place has a great taplist for good prices (for Norway). Lervig is much cheaper here than the Lervig pub.

375 ml waxed bottle, at Cardinal, Stavanger. ABV is 14.2%. Pitch black colour, small tan head. Distinct boozy aroma of bourbon whiskey, oak and vanilla, hints of fusel alcohols. Warming mouthfeel. Extremely sweet and boozy flavour, with the same elements as the aroma. Not my cup of tea.

Svart med lys brunt skum. Lukter rått kjøtt, mørk sjokolade, eik, noe floralsk og bourbon. Fyldig. Søt. Smaker brent karamell, melasse, bourbon, vanilje med lang alkoholvarme i avslutningen.

Intense barrel overdose with some roastiness, prunes, oak, wood, chocolate sauce, vanilla and syrup. Quite massive and heavy complex slow sipper.
