What if Olde Hickory and De Molen meet? At the time of brewing, it was immediately decided to put it in Port barrels, this Imperial Stout with honey was the perfect match for this. Due to the aging in the Port barrels, the characteristic roasted malt, chocolate and caramel aromas of the Stout weaken slightly. On the other hand, this Imp. Stout extra red fruit characters and a well-present vinousness due to the tannins present in the barrels, which makes the beer nicely balanced

[ As De Molen / Olde Hickory Ark & Duif ].
ABV: 11.6%. Clear dark black brown colour with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, barrel, port, port - dried fruit, smoke, moderate chocolate and coffee. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and light to moderate bitter with a long duration, port, barrel, swmoke - barrel, dark malt, sweet malt, port - dried fruit. Body is medium to full, texture is oily - creamy, carbonation is soft, finish feel is warming and light to moderate alcoholic. [20240103]

bottle vineous old port wine cellar aroma, roasted malts. great port BA aroma, tilted a bit towards red wine. flavor is roasted malts, charred wood, faint vineous notes, end is charred wood, roasted malts, coffee. the port BA is much more noticable in aroma than in flavor. quite complex, not entirely balanced, heavy on the charred wood.
