Unusual nice bourbon beer. Dark pour and a tan head. Fine intensity in the aroma. Balanced sweetness for a beer like this. Pleasant to drink. Dark malt, wood, roast, bourbon and chocolate in the flavor [Bottle at Sørjordet Plaza in Drammen, Norway]

Bottle. A dark brown one, close to black, quite murky, with a minimalistic beige head. The aroma has some boozy and bourbony notes, with roasted malts, coffee hints, some dark chocolate and soy sauce. Licorice hints. It's full-bodied and warming, softly carbonated, with a gentle bitterness. Licorice, soy sauce, coffee, honey hints and some oak and bourbon in the flavor. Lasting finish. Quite nice this one, tasteful and moreish. 240525

Kveldens siste (og for en avslutning!) på en særdeles spenstig Mi2 dedikert til Rygr Brygghus: nesten helt svart med flott skum som varer. De lekreste lakrissjokolader, utsøkt dessertkaffe, eksklusive konfekter og mere til. Iflg bryggeriets to hyggelige representanter hadde de brukt 76 timer på å brygge denne: 1800 kilo malt til 1800 liter vann, kokt i 6 timer, gjæret med champagnegjær og lagret på nyimporterte Jack Daniels-fat. Jeg er imponert og roper hurra for Rygr!

Shared bottle at Cardinal, Stavanger. Pours black with brown head. Aroma of bourbon, dark dried fruits, chocolate, nuts, vanilla, ethanol, dark bread. Tastes pretty sweet, but not overwhelmingly. Full bodied, sweet finish. What a beer!

330 ml bottle in cardboard box, in the Berserk series, as Rygr Hugin Bourbon Barrel Aged Imp. Stout, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 15%. Pitch black colour, moderate to small tan head. Aroma of roast malts, molasses, vanilla, oak and bourbon whiskey. Rich mouthfeel and flavour. The flavour has the same elements as the aroma, with distinct bourbon. Some sweetness, but not too much. Noticeable alcohol, but not disturbing. Excellent beer.

Svart med lys brunt skum. Lukter bourbon og mørk sjokolade. Fyldig. Smaker salt lakris, melasse, noe kaffe, vanilje og trevirke. Middels lang.
