Bottled (thanks to the craziest... yeah.). Quite much copper colour, not too much head. Aroma is sweet malts, some caramel and also grassy + flowery notes. Flavour is quite much the same along with some wooden notes. Quite "biting" dry finish. --- Beer merged from original tick of Cotleigh Tawny Owl on 18 Jul 2009 at 17:42 - Score: Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 6 | Flavor - 6 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 6. Cask conditioned at the Rising Sun, Frampton Cotterell, Gloucs April 2007. Amber with a middling white head. Aroma was of fruity sweetness with a whiff of hops. Flavour was pleasantly malty without being too sweet. Finish was short but dry. A good session bitter.

(Cask at Oliver Twist, Stockholm) Colour is ...well, tawny, actually, with brief creamy, off-white head, leaving some lacing. Fruity nose with notes of orange, dried apricots and earthy hops. Initially malty taste turning fruitier with notes of orange, apricots and a nice dash of earthy hops in the finish. Rather dry, light to medium body. Quite tasty and nice session bitter, actually.

Cask (handpump) at The White Horse Inn, Bradford-on-Tone TA4. Lovely fruit hit almost instantly supported by a big bold but not over-powering bitterness. A nicely balanced session bitter with good flavour.

Cask at Oliver Twist, Stockholm (labelled Tawny Owl). Clear amber. Dusty vegetable aroma. Sweet and fruity with some not so pleasant flavour reminiscent of a used vacuum cleaner bag. Light to medium bodied with soft mouthfeel, some caramelly malt flavour and notes of sulphur.
