0,33l bottle at home from my Secret Santa Lowenbrau, big thanks. BB 09/2017. dark brown color, small off-white head. smells belgian yeasty, bubbly, ripe fruits, some peach, light glueish, a bit acidic, light berry notes, OKish smell. full body, medium carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes of belgian yeast, glueish again, spices, caramel, lightly acidic, bit citric, light notes of dark fruits, some sharp alcoholic notes. finishes with notes of sharp alcohol, dark fruits and and some spices. OKish, not a big fan, not too exciting and alcohol a bit too present for my liking.. Overall OK

Small cream-coloured rim, fast gone over fully hazy redbrown beer. Woody nose, caramel, leafy, rainwater, cheese, woodstainer. Some hops, but mainly roasted & dark malts, with a jumble of meaty and other esters, chocolate. Caramel or even toffee in the finish, as well as a vanilla touch. Not very well-bodied, bit thinnish. Well, yeah... He wasn’t very Belgian, the defunct monk.
