Cask at Crewe Dog, Crewe. This is a light mild so, confusingly, it pours “bitter brown” with a small off-white head. There’s malts and some hints of honey in the aroma. Malts are very much dominant in the mouth, where it is sweet with a chewy texture and traces of autumn fruits and nuts. Later on somebitterness comes through plus hints of ginger, leading to s slightly dry and sticky finish. It’s reasonable – but nothing special.
