Rye Grain is a dark beer, based on rye grain kvass malt, which gives the beer a taste that will closely resemble everyone's beloved kvass. A very light hop note will be added to the beer by Magnum and Herkules. A very tasty, unique dark beer!

Bottle from Linda Shop, Burton on Trent (not listed on Brewver), drank at home. Pours a dark brown with a medium sized foamy cream head and good thick lacing. Aroma is malts, cereals, rye, and stale bread, plus hints of raisins and cocoa. In the mouth it is quite bitter, but with a creamy texture giving plenty of malty sweetness too. Flavour has bread, rye, malts and caramel. Finish is quite dry. This is quite nice – interesting and different. Similar to kvass but with an alcoholic kick behind it.

Thanks omhper! Deep amber colour, huge foamy beige head, which leaves some lace. Aroma is grainy, some earthy, some toffee and a bit salty tones. Flavour is rye, grains, some mild herbal, earthy and a bit grassy bitterness to it.

Bottled. Clear mahogany colour, mid sized head. Kvass-like raisiny dark bread aroma. Sweet with light to medium body and clean, rounded mouthfeel. Raisins, brown sugar and dark rye bread. Spicy finish with low bitterness. Interesting, for a Cesu.

50cl bottle from SuperAlko, Ainaži. Pours dark brown to mahogany coloured with a modest, slightly tanned head. Bready and kvass-like with dark rye bread aromas dominating. Sweet, malty and surprisingly thin mouthfeel. Somewhat interesting and fairly drinkable.

Smell-weak, malt. Foam- malty, rye, kvass, sweet-ish. Head is a medium-sized, light brown color. From - snifter Appearance - brewer bottle cap, simple label. Clear ruby color, medium carbonation, quite dark. Taste - malty, sweet, kvass, rye, bread. Pretty much what you would expect from regular kvass. Not bad actually, if you like Kvass this will probably be fine with you. Still lacking to be great, but it's a start. Definitely more Kvass than beer. Quick rerate: Smells even more like kvass. Maybe I was thirsty but increased the score from 3.0 to 3.3
