This is a rich, robust porter, cleverly crafted to integrate the aromas and flavors of espresso coffee malt and bitter-sweet chocolate malt. Inspired by owner Brendan Moylans’ daughter Chelsea, this is an American-Irish Style Porter that dark beer drinkers will love

Bottle, 22oz. A dark brown beer with a dense, finger-thick light tan head. The aroma has coffee, chocolate and some bonfire, all weak. Soft on the palate, quite dry, with a nice carbonation level. The flavor too is weak, with roasted malts, some coffee and chocolate, and a faint meaty touch. Long, roasted and chocolatey finish with a little hint of meatyness. Not impressive this one, but quite drinkable. 130809

Pours mahogany-tinged black into a shaker. Tan head with good retention recedes to skim surface. Chocolate aromas. Dry with chocolate upfront turning to soy and espresso in the lasting finish.

Bomber from State Line. Pours a very dark brown color with a large frothy tan head. Decent head retention. Aroma of chocolate malts and a bot of coffee hidden behind a cherry/green apple note. The taste is roasted malts, chocolate, nuts and a tart note. Medium bodied, quite fizzy. Not bad but maybe a little off.

Bottled. Deep ambery brown, close to black, colour with a small beigeish brown head that vanishes quite fast. Aroma is roasted malts, some sweet maltyness, ashes as well as chocolate, coffee and mild liquorice. Aroma is toasted malts, chocolate, roasted coffee, liquorice and some slight bitterness in the finish. Pleasantly balanced session porter.

Very dark with a beige head. Aroma is berries, chocolate, light roasted malts. Medium thin body with noticeable carbonation. Flavor is chocolate, lightly roasted malty, sweet berries, light bitterness, a touch of coffee. Quite a nice and interesting porter. I did not expect the sweet berry flavor but it really added an interesting twist to the beer. Mmm.

Clear dark amber beer. Short lived light tan head. Semi dry palate, slightly soft. Smooth dark malt. Just a hint of roastiness. A little minerals in the semi dry finish. Well balanced if very standard porter.

bottle - Pours very dark brown and smells of milk chocolate and roast malt. It has a sweet chocolate malt taste with a little coffee. This medium bodied brew is a solid porter.
