Gravicask, half-pint, shared with Finn. Coal black body, patches on the surface, dotted spots on the glass. Inviting aromas of blackcurrant and dark malts, lightly roasted. Flavoured with grainy chocolate, noticeable blackcurrant to it. Roasted malt-driven finish, mid dry and mid sweet. Medium bodied. Likeable porter version.
Third session, 44th Liverpool Beer Festival, Metropolitan Cathedral Crypt

12/10/2023. Cask at Nottingham Robin Hood Beer & Cider Festival 2023. Pours very dark brown with a small bubbles off-white to beige head. Aroma of chocolate, malt, fruits, vanilla, blackcurrant. Medium sweetness and moderate roasted bitterness. Moderate body, watery, soft carbonation. Lacked some body but otherwise nice.
