Draught, guest ale served in a tulip glass at Cafe Fiasco. Filmy fawn-coloured head. Dotted spots on the glass. Deep devil-black body. Rich roasted black malty nose with liquorice to the fore. Blended taste of sweet chocolate and roasted, almost burnt coffee grounds. Prolonged finish. Medium bodied, smooth on the swallow. Tasty (Oslo 11.12.2015).

Location: 12 oz can from Winooski Beverage, 8/14/15
Aroma: The aroma is heavy roast and coffee, some burnt notes, and a bit of green vegetable
Appearance: It pours a dark brown-black color with a thin light brown head and spotty lace
Flavor: It tastes of burnt coffee, that green vegetable, and a dry coffee bitterness
Palate: The body is medium, leaning lighter, average-to-lively carbonation, decently dry finish
Overall Impression: This is a pretty good espresso stout. Nice roasted coffee flavor. Good balance between the light sweetness and the slightly higher bitterness. Works as an easy drinking canned stout for those who want a bit more roast in their camping/pool beer drinking. Doesn't have to be overcast of drink this on a sunnier day too.

Growler from Albertsons. Pours out black / brown with small silky head. Coffee is first element in the aroma, some burnt toast as well. Coffee than takes over the flavor. Medium weight body, slick and creamy.

Dark brown, rich chocolate nose with subtle espresso character. Rich mocha character with a great three-way balance between chocolate, coffee and earthy bittering hop. Medium body for this type of beer despite the sweetness. Quite an accomplished example.
