Bottle from Drankenhandel Leiden. Strong brown malt aroma with notes of roast, liquorice, caramel. Moderate sweet, light bitter, above medium body. Robust malts, good.

Fles thuis geprobeerd met LiekevdV. Het is een donker roodbruin bier met een volle bruinige schuimkraag. Het heeft een aroma van gebrande mout en drop. De smaak is vol gebrande mout, chocolade, toffee en gedroogd fruit.

330ml bottle. Cloudy, dark brown colour with small to average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, beige head. Slightly chocolately and nutty, malty aroma, slightly leafy hoppy and alcoholic overtones. Taste is sweet-ish, chocoloately dark malty, slightly caramel malty, bitter, leafy hoppy counterpart, alcoholic and minimally nutty overtones. Watery texture, minimally dry palate, medium, mildly prickly carbonation. A bit simple and watery, a bit boozy - not fully convincing.

Bottle. Clear mahohany with tan head, looks a bit like cola. Lots of roasted malts, brown sugar, licorice, fresh figs, pruneau, sherry. Quite sweet, but with a lingering almost metallic bitterness in the finish. Slick medium body. OK.

Dark chocolate brown colour with thin head. Aroma has a savoury element like forest mushrooms. Balanced taste. Malt and caramel but not too sweet.
