Bottle picked up from the brewpub a few years back. An oily dirty brown coloured pour with a reluctant tan head. Aroma is big dirty peat smoke, tangy apple, little farty, sticky brown sugars. Flavour is composed of sticky sweet brown sugars, toffee, raspberry, woody tannin, little oxidised, boozy oak, cakey malts. Palate is sweet and oily, flabby, lowish carbonation. Lingering peat smoked whisky. Bit if a hit mess.

Draft @ The Foundry, Canterbury. Dark red/brown colour. Nose of red berries, vinegar, red wine, whisky, caramel and chocolate. Very well balanced. Very nice tart notes, blends well with the subtle sweet and light bitterness. Very nice!

Bottle(RBESG 2014): Hazy, reddish-amber coloured, small - but very stable - creamy tanned head; peaty-toasty and also vinous and oaky aromas in the nose; full sweet flavour, full bodied, as well and quite soft; warming alcohol in the sweet fruity-caramelly finish, followed by a slight malty bitterness in the very end. Well crafted winter beer…
