Cask at the Bootlegger, High Wycombe, 16/01/16. Black with a minimal tan covering that dissipates to nothing m Nose is sweet chocolate, vanilla, airy malts, faint charr, toffee fudge. Taste comprises chocolate, caramel, vanilla, light roasted malts, treacle. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, semi drying close. Ok.

Cask at cloisters. Pours black, nose is chocolate, coffee, coconut, taste is sweet, rich chocolate, light coconut, toffee, vanilla.

Cask-conditioned at the Bag O’Nails, Bristol, 4/12/2015. Near black with a thin, tan, head, Sweetish aroma of chocolate, vanilla and toasted malts. Flavour had some caramel, milk chocolate and oak, before a gently roasted finish. Enjoyable.

Bottle from Cottridge. Black colour with a thin tan head. Aroma chocolate, roasted malt, vanilla. Taste sweetish and roasted malts. Thick body.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines; dark coca cola brown pour with a bubbly tan head, aroma has roasted malts plus some milk chocolate, taste has sweet chocolate, roast malts, a hint of carbs, low carbs, ok.

Bottle from minutemat. Many thanks! Beautiful dark brown colour, very dark foam. Soft carbonation. Sweet nose of caramel, cocoa and vanilla. Also bitter roasted malts. Dry and sweet. Bit thin body. Not bad.

Cask at the bow bar. Pours black, thin tan head. Aromas of tar, charcoal, leaf mulch. Taste is chewy, tar, more ashy charcoal. Sweetness at the back

On cask at the Bow Bar. Appearance - opaque black like crude oil and with a lovely fawn crema head. Nose - really dark chocolate with a raisin note. Taste - more dark chocolate and raisins. There’s a light wood and cognac note as you swallow. Actually it’s quite oxidised. If it was a wine it would imply corked. Palate - medium bodied with a creamy texture and a balanced dry finish. Overall - complex and interesting.
