Old Review from 15/05/2014. A bottle picked up from a tiny greengrocer in the brewery's hometown of Llanidloes, Wales. Pours black as Coke with no head. Aroma is roasted, some coffee and liquorice. Taste is moderate sweet, roasted coffee and dry bitter liquorice, smooth light Watery mouthfeel, still a very good stout, on the sweeter side.

Can from lowcostbeer, consumed 3 months past BBE. Pours black with small fizzy beige head which recedes quite quickly. Aroma is sweet and big on chocolate and coconut but also some roasted malts and a hint of berry fruitiness, slight metallic notes come through. Taste again sweet, chocolate, coconut, a little watery in the middle, then liquorice and light ash notes and a nice hoppy bitterness in the finish. Just about medium bodied and fairly slick but feels on the light side for 7% ABV. Tasty though.

Handpull cask at Broood, Leicester. Dark broen and a little bit translucent with a small ring of beige head. The aroma is surprisingly light, with hazelnut and toasted coconut to the fore. Taste is sweet, sweet, sweet, with loads of coconut. There's a deep Marmite-y savoury note near the finish, adding another complexity to the brew. Flat, oily body. Might be too sweet for some but I love it.

Cask @ Victorian Craft Beer Cafe, Halifax. Black with a creamy off-white head. There's a mid roasted aroma and taste, dry tasting and it lingers.

Bottle which I think is courtesy of Geraint and Helen cheers you two. Consumed at home Sunday 8th January 2017 Pours black, it’s as flat as a pancake, fruity, tangy and tart. There is a little buzz on the tongue, berries in the mouth, dry finish. I didn’t really get any chocolate, vanilla or coconut, just a tart, fruity assertive and tangy beer, didn’t seem bad in any way but not sure if it was intended to be like this? A6 A3 T6 P6 Ov11 2.9

Cask gravity at Reading BF 2016. Black beer thin tan head. Thick oily dark chocolate vanilla aroma. Touch of freshly baked chocolate sponge vanilla chocolate flavour in the mouth. Roasted coconut comes thru as do the cocoa nibs. Tasty interesting hides abv well. Bit too much vanilla for me.
