A bold, balanced Amber Ale. The carefully layered malt bill showcases a host of aromas and flavours spanning light, sweet biscuit through to dark roasted caramel. Vibrant hops from America and New Zealand introduce a gently bitter edge of resinous pine and citrus pith, topped off with subtly spiced florality.

Creamy white head stayed on a hazy, still, dark amber body. Malt aroma with hints of pine. Thin on the palate, sharp & clean. Very mild flavours of pine, outdoors, malt, citrus & a general bitterness on the back. Not much to say about this but it’s very solid.

Keg at The Hanging Bat, and cask at The Stockbridge Tap (six years later). Hazy amber body with a thin white head. Good lacing. Aroma of orange, earth and honey. Flavour of orange pith, wood and sparkling water. Medium body with a smooth, slightly oily mouthfeel. Soft carbonation. Good flavour for the strength. Better on cask than keg.

Keg at The York Tap 24/03/14. My notes say "Good 5am Saint clone". It was getting late... Anyways, pours amber, good off-white head. High carbonation. Pine, citrus, good caramel malt background.
