We found inspiration in the beautiful and precocious dog breed known as the Italian Greyhound who is often parti-colored. It sounded like a fun name and we’ve been known to get on the Venga bus + parti a bit too. This beer is brewed with Weyermann’s Italian Eraclean Malt, which is actually grown on the Adriatic coast of Italy, northeast of Venice. Dry hopped with Hallertau Blanc, which is a daughter to Cascade, it’s a great blend of grassy German hops and fruity American hops with a wonderful vinous character. Crisp, clean, with a touch more bitterness than your German Pilsner. But what is an Italian Pilsner?

Can. Clear gold in color with a three finger head. Aroma is grass and grains. Taste is a bit more hoppy than I would expect from a Pilsner.

Lemon, biscuit malt, and grass aroma. Pale golden yellow with moderate head and effervescence. Mildly sweet lemon, biscuit malt, mildly sour lactic acid, and mildly bitter grass flavor. Good body.

Pour looks like lemonade with a large white head. Aroma is bready malt with some lemon hops. Flavor is white bread with some citrus hops. Finish leaves some cracker malt on the tongue. OK hoppy pils.

Interesting pils, very grainy and herbal, with a toasted corn sweetness matched with floral-n-herb hops. Not my favorite, but the pint did disappear pretty fast.
