Bottle at home, in between hedge killing, take away from Mother Kelly’s 06/07/14. Hazed marmalade orange/dark amber with a well appointed light beige covering that stays for a while then dissipates to a swirl and thin edgeing. Nose is bitter grapefruit, caramel, orange pith, mineral notes, earthy hop, light booze, subtle bourbon wooded backnotes. Taste comprises orange pith, bourbon evident, light coconut ring, jammy tropicana, light booze, sticky mango, hint of spice. Medium + body, fine carbonation, subtle bourbon, boozey tinges and tropicana in the close. Solid BA DIPA, all pretty subtle on the bourbon front but you know it’s there, the alcohol is well integrated and it still retains the charectar of a DIPA. This one grew on me rising from 3.5 on first sip to 3.8 at the close, not often a beer shifts by more than 0.2 for me after the first rating.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines; hazy copper pour with a thin creamy white head, aroma has spirit but a hint of citrus, taste has bourbon but the DIPA character is still there, some fruit, light pine, citrus, dangerously easy to drink for it’s ABV, I’m enjoyable this BA pale.

330ml bottle. Pours dark orange with a small head. Aroma is toffee, burnt mango hops and a little bourbon. Taste is toffee and bourbon with a small amount of hops in the finish.
