Bottle thanks to Leighton. It pours lightly hazy orange with a decent white head. The nose is rich, sweet, juicy, stewed orange, peach, apricot, light vanilla and marmalade. The taste is bitter - sweet, peach, nectarine, stewed orange, grainy, marmalade, bready, wood, pine, grainy action and boozy boost with a dry, woody finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. A bit boosty.... A bit dirty. A bit underwhelming, but alright.

Bottle shared in London. Pours clear orange-gold with a frothy, off-white head. Lots of wood in the nose, some crunchy caramel, lightly toasted grains, ripe orange. Medium to heavy sweet flavor with harsh pine and grass bitterness, toasted grains, bread, very dry wood. Full bodied, lightly chewy, with fine to average carbonation. Warming finish with more wood, toasted caramel, orange peel, grains. Pretty heavy and punchy. Just drinkable.

26th October 2014
Hazy deep amber beer, tidy pale cream colour head. Palate is smooth and semi dry, good fine carbonation. Smooth malts, little dry cream. Well integrated smooth bourbon, tangy. Mild vanilla. Good orange and marmalade hops, not super fresh but bringing good fruity flavours. Light semi dry finish. Not quite the knockout of Batch 2 but a tasty and interesting number all the same.

Bottle from Beer Central, Sheffield. Cloudy, reddy, amber. Film of white, sticky head. Woody. Greasy. Thick, fusty fruit. Oily herb. Taste is thick sweet. Woody bitter. Woody dry. Palate is chewy sweet. Greasy. Oily. Finish is all of that, with a boozy warmth that lingers. Tasty beer. A bit big and daft. Very nice.
