Bei unserer Neuinterpretation dieses altenglischen Bierstils kombinieren wir in einer speziellen Kalthopfung die beiden Hopfensorten Hallertauer Mittelfrüh und den amerikanischen Citra. So entsteht ein IPA mit einer einzigartig fruchtig-herben Hopfenaromatik, einer besonders ausgewogenen Bittere und einer dezenten Süße. Ein klares bernsteinfarbenes Bier mit Aromen von Aprikose, Orange und Holunderblüten.

330 ml, bottle No. 1071, from CITTI-Markt Flensburg. BB date 30.11.2013. ABV is 6.8%. Malts are Pilsener, Wiener and Caramel. Hops are Magnum, Hallertauer Mittelfrüh and Citra. Hazy amber colour, moderate white head. Pleasant aroma of herbal and fruity hops, hints of caramel and orange marmalade. Smooth and pleasant flavour, with the same elements as the aroma, but the bitterness is hardly solid enough for an IPA. Slightly warming mouthfeel. Disregarding style, this is a beer I’d be happy to buy again.

0.65l bottle. Orange body, white head. Aroma of toast, caramel, orange zest and some herby hops. It’s a bit soapy too. There is no sign of the soap in the taste. It has a classic English IPA taste. Toast, caramel and fruity hops with a hint of medicine. Nice.

The fancy 75cl bottle with a punt deep enough to get lost in, picked up at Rudat GmbH in Dortmund, pours with a clear copper body with golden hues and supporting a dirty white head of foam. The mild aroma offers up some citrus, a bit of yeast and a faint spiciness. The taste begins with a full flavor hit of sweetened tangerine and grapefruit hop flavor as well as an initial rush of citrus hop bitterness. The hop bitterness rolls off pretty quick leaving a tasty malt sweetened citrus sensation as this heads into the finish. At the end there’s a mild citrus bitterness that comes weakly to the surface to help close out the experience. Overall a pretty tasty IPA product that is a bit lean on hop bitterness but not by much. I like it and the aroma picked up nicely as it warmed.

Bottle @ home shared by Dutchdrebus. Clear orange to slightly amber color, medium sized white head. Smell malts, lightly tropical fruits but also a little bit a hint of dishwasher water. Taste is virtually the same: malts, lightly hops, lightly tropical fruits but again lightly that dishwasher aroma. Average body, average carbonation.
