Like all hatchets, ours is the consummate outdoorsy all-rounder. Half the alcohol of our flagship IPA Axe Edge, but still deceptively big on that iconic hoppy, citrusy flavour, making it the perfect session IPA.

Can from that lovely bottle shop called Tesco. Pours a misty light gold with yeah small soapy foam, some swirly retention. Aroma of light white bread crust, citrus zest, pepper. Taste of white breads, melon, orange zest, pepper - decent if a touch watery in note. Quite a grassy long bitterness in the finish; it goes on and on at the back of the throat. Better than a nothing finish. Light to mid bodied, modest fine carbonation; maybe a bit more co2 to help the flavour? Mixed.

Foamy white head on a clear dull golden coloured body. Minimal pine aroma. Medium bodied, sharp dry & cloying. Malt, cardboard, grain & citrus tastes with a bitter pithy finish. Nice Sesh.

22/8/2024. Cask at the 32nd East Anglian Beer & Cider Festival. Pours clear golden amber with a small bubbly white head. Aroma is hoppy, citrus, grapefruit, musty lemon, straw. Moderate sweetness and bitterness. touch tart. Moderate body, slightly watery, light sparkling carbonation, with some dryness to finish. Underwhelming offering from a normally very good brewery.

Can from Tesco, Reading. Lightly hazed golden-amber with a white head. Bit thin, but I guess ok for the ABV. Vague tropical aroma; taste is lemon with a touch of pine and a mildly bitter, grassy finish. Perfectly drinkable albeit instantly forgettable. A bit disappointing by Buxton's normal standards.

Can. Nose is lightly malty, straw corn. Taste is straw, hint of caramel, leading to a thin light lime and lemon. Its thin and not very nice. What has happened to Buxton.

Can. Light haze on this gold beer, small tidy pale cream colour head. Light smooth palate, semi dry, decent fine minerally carbonation. Light smooth malts, some light creamy sweetness and a fair old serving of ripe bready malts. Ripe citrus, very peel. Light a d and semi dry finish. Bought this to support the brewery, and I will keep buying their beers because many of them are bloody good. This ain't one of them, this is a shit show of a SIPA. Dull, thin and boring.
