A Whole New Bite. Venom American-Style Pale Ale, first brewed in 1997, is medium-bodied, clear, crisp, and light amber in color with a fluffy white head, moderate 5.6% abv and exquisitely dry finish. The ANTI-VENOM Series replaces Venom’s signature mix of American hops with a different single variety in each new iteration to create new variations of our classic Pale Ale. The second ANTI-VENOM variant, hopped only with American Citra hops, adds strong notes of grapefruit and lemon to the beer’s nose and flavor profile, while keeping the same crisp, lingering finish as the original. Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 7 | Flavor - 6 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 6.5

Location: 22 oz bottle from State Line, 11/6/12

Aroma: The nose is citrus/grapefruit, some caramel, bread, and sweet malts
Appearance: It pours a dark orange-reddish color with a small head and some spotty lace
Flavor: The taste is a little more malty, then the nose, there's bitterness, but not much citrus hop flavor
Palate: The body is medium, it drinks with a little creaminess, an average carbonation, and dry finish
Overall Impression: This one is solid, but not too much more. Trying to remember back to the Green Flash version I had on tap, I feel like this one has a slightly better nose, but otherwise, I liked them both about the same amount, but this one might be just slightly better.

Bomber from State Line. Pours a clear amber color with a large slightly off-white head. Decent head retention. Aroma of lemongrass, herbal and tropical notes. Pretty green. The taste is caramel malts with earthy, citrus and tropical hops. Medium bodied.

Lemongrass, twigs on the nose. Clear amber, medium head. Lemongrass, liht malt. Nice balance, quaffable.
