Bottle from Total Wine. Golden in colour, with a thin, white, head. A very lively pour. Aroma of citrus hops and tangerines. Flavour had sweet rich tea malts, more citrus fruit and a dryish finish. Fine.

Bottle from Harris Teeter, Hampstead, North Carolina. Brighter amber with a thin head. Strong tasting pale ale with some fruitiness, but its strength dominates.

New bottle. Unfortunately, I don’t have an old bottle to compare the versions, but I will rate this before looking at my former review. Pours medium-deep gold with an off-white head. Aroma is citrus, sweat, resin, pine, somewhat juicy. Flavor is crisp citrus, pine, light vanilla, hint of floral hops in the ass-end. Good. Now, looking at my old rating, it was an early cask version of the beer, so I can’t really compare and though I have had this since I can’t be sure of my feelings then.

T: Piney hops hit first, quickly joined by bitter citrus hops. Pithy note on the end. Little sweetness.
M: Medium light body with light but ample carbonation and a crisp clean finish.
O: Nice smell and great piney, citrus bitterness. Quite agreeable.

Clear medium amber colour, big foamy off-white head, recedes slowly to a foamy layer, good lacing. Strong and fresh citrus aroma, orange peel, grapefruit, some caramel, floral hops. Taste light sweet and medium bitter, citrusy. Medium body, oily texture, average carbonation. Mild dry bitter aftertaste, bit spicy, fruity notes, overall a nice mild bitter IPA.
