Pours dark amber with a frothy creme-colored head. Aroma of dry toast, rye bread. Taste has some juniper, woody notes, wine must, vague bready notes. Palate has more juniper, some sweetness on the grain bill, woody ethanolic notes on the nose. Great!

Bottle from Total Wine. Amber in colour, with a thin, white, head. Aroma of leafy hops and caramel. Flavour had ripe malts, hedgerow fruit and a moderately bitter finish. Fine.

12oz bottle. Not many American breweries making beers like this anymore. Deep caramel-orange-brown body. Thin off-white head. Some soapy, rindy, resinous hop tones, very NW Barleywine feel, but lighter body, less alcohol of course. Pretty good.

Sweet caramel. Pours clear copper with white head. Toast develops in the aroma as it warmed. Taste is a bit grainy with toast and moderate caramel.

Bottle from Harris Teeter @ Barracks Road. Pours amber with a small off-white head. Aroma is light apple, light caramel, honey. Flavor is heavily relying on the sweet honey, grains, caramel, a little woody, toffee - actually, perhaps an icecream-ish flavor. It’s actually pretty tasty.
