Blackbeard’s Breakfast is a robust porter with a new world twist. Aged in bourbon barrels and brewed with local Chesapeake Bay Roasting Company’s Dark Sumatra coffee, this porter is flavorful and complex. Featuring unique English malts, this brew will have strong notes of caramel and a slight nut character. Paired with bourbon notes and the sumptuous Sumatran Coffee, Blackbeard’s Breakfast will please coffee and beer connoisseurs alike.

Reviewed from notes.
Bottle to snifter.
Appearance: black in color with a quickly dissipating off-white foamy head which didn't leave any lace
Aroma: sweet woody/bourbon notes, light vanilla, milk chocolate, dark chocolate, coffee roastiness, coffee sweetness and a touch of caramel
Flavor: blends the prior noted aromas to a sturdy sweet tone underscored by a subtle woody spice; finishes sweet chocolatey with the barrel notes
Texture: medium bodied, good sipper, light smoothness but also some barrel spicy edges nipping at the tongue
Overall: I thought it was already aged quite a bit though I didn't have a date on the bottle but I could have aged this a bit longer, still an impressionable beer enough to return to.

Black with nice brown head. Bourbon, coffee, chocolate malt, and fresh hay aroma. Moderately sweet bourbon, coffee, chocolate malt, and mildly bitter hay flavor. Body on the light side for the style.

Big black, large and in charge beauty of a pour. Thick tan creamy head. Nose is imperial stout and coffee, interesting to call this a porter, hehehh. First taste is what my italian grampa used to drink after work in his easy chair; 2 shots of whisky in his after dinner coffee. He let me sip it one time as a toddler, blew me away. I said; 'wow! grampa!'. LoL He just chuckled, then winked and kept watching monochrome gunsmoke. The booziness of the aroma and flavor is quite an experience in this brew. Its simply kicken my fat hairy lager loven ass! My poor girlie taste buds are going to need time to recover from a coma! I'll tell you what, getting this bottle off the make yer own sixer shelf for a buck fitty was a bargain! In the middle its quite mouth coating and has very little carbonation. Finish? Think whisky soaked old partially burned campfire wood. There, you have it. Whew.
