500ml bottle [courtesy of Grumbo - thank you, Graham!]. Clear, dark chestnut colour with average, thick, frothy, to creamy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, beige head. Nutty, leafy, woody and slightly fruity aroma, notes of toasted nuts, some coffee, toffee, hints of red berries. Taste is sweet-ish, toasty dark malty, slightly nutty and woody, slightly fruity and leafy, dry hoppy, notes of toffee, toasted nuts, a touch of caramel, red berries, some coffee. Creamy, oily texture, smooth and soft, minimally cloying palate, fine and soft, mildly prickly carbonation. Quite rich, well balanced, harmonious - very nice.

Bottle from Beers Of Europe. Clear ruby body with a thick beige head. Steady carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of earth, raspberry and wood. Flavour of fruit cake and plum. Medium body with a slick mouthfeel. Soft fizz. A simple, easy drinking beer.

ABV: 4.9%. Clear medium to dark red brown colour with a small to average, frothy - fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, sweet malt, caramel, dark malt, light brown sugar, blackcurrant notes. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average to long duration, caramel, sweet malt, woody, some dark malt, light brown sugar. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. 500ml Bottle - Dark brown with red tinges. Chocolate, blackcurrant, nuts and some roasted notes in the aroma. Blackcurrant, chocolate, vanilla and some roasted hints can be detected in the taste.
