On cask at Crow, Sheffield - jet black, solid white head. Lactose forward, chocolate dominates with an ice cream vanilla hit. Good and solid.

Gravicask, 1/3 pint at GBBF Winter '23. Shared with Finn. Deep black body, lacing rings down the glass, from a fading beige head. Inviting smell of mildly roasted chocolate malts. Vanilla chocolate to the forefront of the flavour character, biscuit support, and lactose backbone. Smooth chocolate finish, rather sweet. Tasty, just a tad too sweet. (Burton upon Trent, 17.02.2023).

Cask at the Cock Tavern - Hackney. Pours black-brown with a tight, foamy beige head. Lightly sweet with sturdy ashy roast, bitter cocoa, vanilla pods, a few raisins. Light bodied with fine carbonation; decent condition. Finishes with notes of bittersweet baking cocoa, ash, more vanilla, burnt toast. Nice one.

Cask at Furnace, Derby. Pours a very dark reddish-brown with minimal cream head. Marshmallows and hints of chocolate in the aroma. In the mouth it has a milky texture with flavours of vanilla, cocoa and roast malts, plus some dark fruits underneath it all. There are some subtle spices too, and the finish is reminiscent of aniseed. This is quite simply gorgeous !
